Specialty Services

Sleep apnea treatment, oral surgery, sedation, facial rejuvenation, and periodontal care under one roof.

This page covers several services that don’t fit neatly into the other categories but matter for your health and comfort. Some of these involve coordination with specialists; others we handle entirely in-house.

Protecting your overall health

Oral cancer screening is part of what we look for during a routine exam, but we also offer it as a standalone screening if you want one specifically. We check the soft tissue of your mouth, throat, and lips for anything that looks abnormal. Caught early, most oral cancers are very treatable. Risk factors include tobacco, heavy alcohol use, and HPV, though some patients have no obvious risk factors at all. Screening takes a few minutes.

Preventive care is the umbrella for the habits and treatments that reduce your risk of bigger problems later. That includes cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and exams, the things that catch issues before they need intervention.

Sleep apnea treatment involves a custom oral appliance for patients who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea or who snore significantly. The appliance repositions your lower jaw slightly during sleep to keep the airway open. It’s an alternative to a CPAP machine for patients who can’t tolerate the mask. We work with your physician; you need a sleep study diagnosis before we make the appliance.

Surgical and specialized care

Oral surgery covers procedures like removing teeth that can’t be extracted with a standard approach, including impacted wisdom teeth, and other procedures involving the bone or soft tissue of the jaw and mouth. Some cases we handle here; complex cases may involve a referral.

Occlusal and sports guards protect your teeth from the force of grinding or an impact during physical activity. A custom guard fits your teeth specifically and holds its shape longer than a generic alternative.

Each of these services has its own consult process. If you’re not sure which applies to your situation, a general exam is usually the right starting point.
